Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a celebrant led wedding ceremony?
A celebrant-led wedding is a fully personalised ceremony that focuses on your love story, values, and vision. Unlike a registrar-led ceremony, it isn’t bound by legalities or restrictions, giving you complete freedom over the content, location, and style of your ceremony.
  • How is a celebrant different from a registrar?
A registrar is a government-appointed official who conducts legally binding marriage ceremonies. Their ceremonies must follow a strict legal framework, including set wording and time constraints—often lasting no more than 15 minutes. A celebrant, on the other hand, creates a completely bespoke ceremony with no restrictions, allowing you to personalise every aspect of your special day.
  • Is a celebrant wedding legally binding?
No, a celebrant-led wedding isn’t legally binding in the UK. Most couples complete the legal paperwork separately at a registry office, leaving them free to have the wedding ceremony they truly want, without restrictions on wording, location, or format.
  • Where can we hold our ceremony?
Anywhere! Whether it’s a forest, a beach at sunset, your family garden, or a historic venue, your ceremony can take place wherever feels most meaningful to you. I am based in London and happy to travel a couple of hours outside the city. For locations further afield, I’m happy to discuss travel and accommodation arrangements, which may incur an additional fee.
  • Do you offer rehearsals?
Yes! Some couples find a rehearsal helpful to ease nerves and run through the key moments. It’s entirely up to you.
  • How long does a celebrant ceremony last?
Most ceremonies last between 20-40 minutes, depending on what you’d like to include. It’s your day, so the timing is flexible to suit your vision!
  • How do we book you?
Get in touch for a chat! If we’re a great fit, I’ll take a deposit to secure your date, and we’ll begin creating your perfect ceremony together.
